Tribal Jewel Repurposed
There was a little bag I brought back from Thailand years ago. I loved that bag and wore it to death! The bag’s basic concept was ultimately the inspiration for the Secret Pockets I’ve been making for some years. Here, I have repurposed embroidery and beads from that precious bag. It is now the “pendant” hanging on one of my corded necklaces covered with William Morris fabric and in my Tribal Jewels series

From my “Date Bag” series, this has a delicate strip of antique mirror cloth from the Kutch desert area of India, immediately south of Pakistan. The red lining has three contrasting inner pockets. Corded bag is 9′ x 7.5″
